Gibraltar Rock Run- part of the Royal Marines 350th anniversary celebrations
As part of the 350th anniversary of the formation of the Royal marines the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund have permission from the Governor and Government of Gibraltar to stage a historic Rock Run on Saturday 25 October 2014. The event is open to a maximum of 350 individuals who will travel to Gibraltar on Friday 24 October and return to the UK on Monday 27 October. During the three night stay participants will have ample free time to sample the many delights of Gibraltar from shopping to sightseeing.
On the evening of your arrival you will attend a registration evening to be briefed on your stay as well as to receive your souvenir running top and number. The run will start at 9am on Saturday in Casemates Square with a warm up by a Royal Navy physical training instructor, followed by breakfast in the Naval base. On Saturday evening you will be able to attend a Royal Marines 350th birthday party at the superb Rock Hotel in a Moroccan style tent. There will also be a small memorial parade on the Sunday followed by the top 30 fundraisers attending a reception hosted by His Excellency the Governor at his residence in the Convent. Later on the Sunday evening you will be invited to a superb medal and prize giving ceremony in the beautiful St Michael's Cave in the heart of the rock.
The registration fee is £280 and all participants are asked to raise a minimum of £2,800 for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund. All flights, accommodation and meals are included.
