Last November some 70 Royal Marines recovering from wounds and injuries were entertained at Brands Hatch to a day of thrills (and a few spills!) driving in high performance cars around the iconic Brands Hatch racing circuit. 

The inspiration behind the day was the Secret Millionaire, Gary Eastwood, and two of his friends, Martin Lewis and Cliff Fox, who inspired their friends and colleagues to contribute their high performance cars to the day. 

The night before a dinner was held at the Thistle Hotel at Brands Hatch where nearly £30,000 was raised for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund. On 26 January, Gary Eastwood presented this magnificent cheque to Brig Simon Hill (Chairman of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund Campaign Board. 

This would not have been achieved without the drive and commitment of the Gary and his friends, the support of the terrific team at the Thistle Hotel, and the hard work of former Royal Marine, Paul Rhodes, who organised the dinner – a magnificent Corps Family effort!
