Marines Gareth Richards and Jamie Jowett were sent on an experience of a lifetime sailing the tall ship, Lord Nelson, with the Jubilee Sailing Trust. The Jubilee Sailing Trust is a registered charity whose mission is to promote the integration of people of all physical abilities through the challenge and adventure of sailing tall ships on the open sea.

Marine Gareth Richards commented on the experience:

"This voyage has been amazing; I’ve met many courageous people and made new friends. I’ve had an awesome experience with many real adrenalin rushes, it was so much fun, I was gutted when it was over. It’s made me feel so happy and alive, the banter and general getting no know everyone, cheered us up. Many voyagers don’t really get out often because of their disabilities; many were stuck in a care home environment. Sailing on the Lord Nelson has given them plenty of stories to tell back home. I’m keeping in contact with a lot of the voyagers on Facebook, where we have shared our photos and moments. I am so glad I’ve went on this voyage; it’s made me realise how lucky I am. I see others in a whole new light. I would feel very privileged to sail again in the future."
